Aronia (aronia berry) belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae), is native to the eastern coasts of North America, and is commonly grown in plantations in Poland.

Hawthorn fruit Crataegi fructus has similar composition as inflorescence, yet the components ratio is different. The fruit is dominated by procyanidins and catechins, with far fewer flavonoids.
